A booking fee, so organizers receive the full price they set

When an organization sets a class at $100, it should receive $100. Starting today, paid bookings on Famlo include a booking fee that covers Famlo's booking service and secure card payment, so the organizer receives the full price they set.

For families, the price you see is the price you pay. The fee is already inside every price on Famlo, and it shows as one line at checkout.

How much it is

The booking fee is 3.7% of the price plus $1.79 a ticket, plus the cost of processing your payment. A $100 class shows families $108.95. A $120 class shows $130.31. The organization receives $100 or $120.

It's the same however you pay online, and the same on every Famlo plan.

The price you see is the price you pay

Every price a family sees on famlo.co, and on an organization's own website, already includes the fee. Activity pages say Includes booking fee, and search results say "Prices include all fees". There's no surprise added at the last step.

At checkout, the fee is its own Booking fee line, between the subtotal and the order total.

Famlo's Terms of Service and Refund Policy, which you agree to at checkout, now describe the booking fee.

What stays free

A Famlo account is free. Free events are free, and a free RSVP carries no fee.

Scholarship money never carries a booking fee. When a Step Up scholarship pays for a seat, Step Up pays the organization directly and the money never passes through Famlo.

Memberships, payment plans and monthly classes

When you join a membership, pay for a class over time, pay month by month or enroll in a program, the booking fee is on each charge: 3.7% plus $1.79, plus processing, on every dues payment, installment or month. It shows as its own Booking fee line on each invoice, and one membership counts as one ticket.

Organizations can pay it themselves

Families pay the booking fee by default, so you receive your full price. If you'd rather families see just your listed price, you can pay the fee yourself, for your whole organization or class by class.

  • For your whole organization: open School settings › Getting paid and, in the Booking fee row, select Pay it ourselves (1). Only the person who created or claimed the listing can change this.
  • For one class: open the class editor, then How families can pay › Booking fee, and choose under Who pays it. The first choice, Same as followed by your organization's name, follows the setting above.

When you pay it, families see your listed price, and Famlo's 3.7% plus $1.79 a ticket, along with Stripe's processing, comes out of each card payment. The class editor shows what you'll keep as you type a price.
