Your own website, on your own domain

A lot of homeschool groups end up with a website held together by tape: a page builder for the pages, a form tool for sign-ups, a spreadsheet for who paid, and a volunteer who knows how it all connects. Your Famlo website does all of it in one place.

Build it in your Famlo console, put it on a web address you already own, and families can browse your classes, sign in, book and pay right there, on a site with your name and your look.

Everything you already have, on your own site

Your website starts with what's already in Famlo: your classes with their seats and prices, your teachers and their bios, reviews from families, your services, your shop and your membership. You don't copy anything across. Add a class in Classes and it shows up on your site by itself. Fill a seat and the count goes down.

Around that, you write the pages you want: a homepage, an About page, a FAQ, a page of what to pack for the first day. Each page is built from sections, such as a heading and text, photos, questions and answers, a video or a sign-up form.

Your listing on famlo.co stays where it is, and families can still book there.

Pick a look and go live

There are eleven looks to choose from, from playful and bright to calm and classical, including Famlo's original design. Every look works on phones and draws on your real classes, and you can switch any time without losing anything you've written. On Website › Theme, each look's Preview button opens it on a sample site, so you can see it before you choose.

Setup walks you through five steps: a look, your logo and colors, a welcome photo, how families reach you, and publishing. Upload your logo and Famlo suggests colors that match it. The card on your Website page says it takes about five minutes.

Edit right on the page

To change your site, click any words, photo or button on the page and type. Your changes save as you go and stay a draft until you select Publish, so families never see something half-finished.

You don't have to publish straight away. Schedule a change for a term start or a big announcement and it goes out on its own. Every version you publish is kept, so if a change doesn't work out, you can restore an earlier one.

The extras

  • Members-only pages. Choose who can see each page: everyone, signed-in families, or members only. A handbook or a volunteer schedule can sit on your site without being public.
  • Spanish pages. Write a Spanish version of your pages, and families get an English and Spanish switch in the header.
  • Weather. In-person classes in the coming week show the forecast on their class cards.
  • Booking emails in your look. Once your web address is connected, booking confirmations for bookings made on your site, day-before reminders and spot-opened emails go out in your site's colors, under your organization's name.
  • Google Analytics and Meta Pixel. See how families find your site. Families are asked first with a cookie banner, and nothing loads until they press Accept.
  • A class calendar feed. Share one address and families can add your public classes to their own calendar app.

On a web address you own

Your site goes online at your own address, like www.yourschool.org. Famlo doesn't sell or register domains, so if you don't have one yet, buy it from any domain seller first.

Connecting it takes two records at the company you bought it from: one CNAME and one A record. Website › Domain shows the exact values, checks for them every hour and emails you when your site is live. New addresses start hidden from Google, so you can finish your pages first, then turn on Show in Google search.

For families: one Famlo account, every website

If an organization you know has its own website, you don't need a new account for it. Sign in with your Famlo account. If you're already signed in on famlo.co, it's one tap.

On the organization's website you can book and pay, message the organization, and open your Parent portal: your children, your bookings and your payments with that organization, all in one place. Your children are the same children everywhere, so details you add on one website are there on famlo.co too.

What it costs

Your website comes with the Website plan: $99 a month, or $990 a year. It includes everything in the Scholarship plan. You get it in School settings › Plan & billing.

If the plan ends or a payment fails, your site doesn't disappear. Visitors see a page that says "This website is taking a short break", with a link to your classes on Famlo, and families can still sign in. Nothing is deleted, and your site comes straight back when the plan is paid again.

Where to find it

Once your organization has the Website plan, Website appears in your console's left rail for owners and co-leaders. Its tabs hold the settings for the whole site (Pages, Theme, Logo & icon, Details, Domain and Connections), and Edit your website opens the page editor.

Families find an organization's website at its own address. The Parent portal button sits at the right of the menu on every page.

Getting started

Get the Website plan in School settings › Plan & billing. Then open Website and select Start on the Set up your website card. When your pages are ready, connect your web address in Website › Domain.
