- For families
Signing waivers and agreements
Some organizations ask you to read and sign a waiver or agreement, such as a liability waiver or a photo permission, when you register for a class. You sign on Famlo as part of checkout, and Famlo emails you a copy and keeps it in your account. The agreement is between you and the organization. As each one says: "Famlo isn't a party to it."
Signing at checkout
When a class has agreements, checkout has a step titled Before you pay, after the organization's questions. It says the organization "asks every family to read and sign these. You'll get a copy by email." Free classes with agreements are signed the same way.
- Read the Signing electronically. note (1). It explains that you're agreeing to sign electronically, and that you can ask the organization for a paper copy instead.
- Read each agreement. It's shown in full, with its version and Required or Optional. Select Open full screen (2) to read it on a bigger page. Each child you're registering gets their own copy where the organization asks for one per child.
- For an agreement about a child, choose whether you're their Parent or Court-appointed legal guardian (3).
- Tick the statement under each agreement (4), for example "I'm Ella's parent or legal guardian and I'm 18 or older. I've read Liability waiver (version 2) above, and I agree to it for myself and on Ella's behalf. I agree to sign electronically. Typing my name below is my signature." Some agreements only need a tick: "I've read and agree to Photo permission (version 2) for Ella." When an agreement is asked once per child, the statement names the child.
- Type Your full name (5). Keep Type it, or choose Draw it and sign with your finger or mouse (Clear starts again). One name signs every agreement on the page.
- Select Continue to payment (6), then finish checkout as usual. See Registering and checking out.
You must be 18 or older and the child's parent or guardian to sign for a child. If the class's agreements are optional, you can leave them unticked and still register.
Your signed copies
Right after you sign, Famlo emails you "Your signed copy:" and the agreement's name. The signed agreement is attached as a PDF. "Keep this email. It's your own copy." The email also has the copy's fingerprint and its record code.
Every agreement you sign is also kept in your account, even after a registration is canceled.
- Select your avatar at the top right, then Account settings.
- Select Agreements (2).
Under Signed, each copy shows the agreement and version, who it's for, the class, the organization and the date. Select View to read it exactly as you signed it, or PDF to download it. The Agreements section appears once you've signed an agreement, or registered with an organization whose classes use them.
Record codes. Each copy has a record code like AGS-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. "Anyone you give it to can check this record at verify.famlo.co." That page confirms the record is real without showing your name, your child, or the agreement's text.
Signing later
You may be asked to sign after you've registered: when the organization adds an agreement to the class, changes the wording and asks families to sign again, or when you didn't sign before. You can sign in two places.
- From an email. The organization's email has a link that "opens the agreement in full. You'll read it, then type your name to sign. The link works once and only for this agreement, and it doesn't sign you in to Famlo." If the link has expired or a newer one was sent, use the newest email, or sign from your account.
- From your account. Open Account settings › Agreements. Anything waiting is listed under To sign. Select Sign.
If an organization added a required agreement after you registered, the page says "[organization] added this after you registered. Sign it to keep your place". For a class, it may also offer Cancel and get a full refund, which the screen describes as "a full refund, including the booking fee". For a program enrollment, it says to contact the organization to cancel.
At the door. If a required agreement isn't signed, the teacher can't check your child in until it is. They may hand you their phone to sign, show you a QR code to sign on your own phone, or email you a link. On the teacher's phone you can confirm it's you with a code emailed to you.
Withdrawing, or signing on paper
Withdraw an optional agreement. On Account settings › Agreements, an optional agreement you signed has Withdraw. "It stops applying from today; what you signed before stays on record." The organization is told. A required agreement can't be withdrawn this way. Canceling the registration withdraws it.
Sign on paper instead. Under Electronic signing, select Withdraw my consent to sign electronically. "Anything you've already signed stays signed." The organizations you're registered with are told, and when a class asks you to sign, checkout says to ask the organization for a paper copy. "Once they record it, you can finish registering." Select Turn it back on to sign on Famlo again.
Something isn't right
A signing link isn't for me. Open it and select Not you? next to the name. Famlo cancels the link and tells the organization.
I didn't sign this. If you get a signed copy for something you didn't sign, use the "Didn't sign this?" link in the email and select I didn't sign this. The link is in copies signed from an emailed link or on a teacher's phone. Famlo lets the organization and Famlo support know. "Nothing is changed or cancelled by reporting."
"[Agreement] changed while you were signing. Please read the new version." The organization published a new version while you were reading. Read it again and sign.
"Registration for this class is paused while [organization] updates its forms." The organization needs to fix something in its agreements before anyone can register. Try again later, or message the organization.
"Please confirm you're [child]'s parent or court-appointed guardian." Choose Parent or Court-appointed legal guardian under the agreement.
"Please type your full name to sign." Fill in Your full name. If you chose Draw it, draw your signature too, or switch back to Type it.
Questions about what an agreement says. Ask the organization. Famlo doesn't write or review their agreements.
