Your Home page

Home is the page you land on when you sign in to Famlo. It shows what needs your attention, what your family has booked this week, each child's school year and new activities nearby. Anyone with a Famlo account has one.

Where to find Home

  • On a computer: select Dashboard in the top bar.
  • On a phone: tap Home, the first tab in the bar at the bottom of the screen.
  • You can also go straight to famlo.co/dashboard.

When you sign in, Famlo brings you here, unless you were on your way to a particular page.

The greeting and the child chips

The top of the page shows today's date and a greeting with your first name. The first time you arrive after creating your account, it says Welcome to Famlo instead.

Next to the greeting is a row of chips: Everyone, then one chip for each child, each with its own color dot. In the picture above, Dashboard is (1) and the chips are (2).

  • Select a child's chip to show only that child in This week and School year so far. Bookings with no child named stay in the list, so you can still say who's going.
  • Select the same chip again, or Everyone, to see the whole family.
  • Select + Add to add another child. For the details you can record, see Your family and children.

Before you add a child

Until your family has at least one child on it, Home is a single column:

  • The Getting started checklist, opened at Add your first child, with a short form: First name, Birth month, Birth year and Add child. No birth date is needed. Add several at once opens the full form. If you hid the checklist, an Add your first child card shows the same form.
  • A Where you are card with the town Famlo thinks you're in, or Set location if it can't tell. Select the town (or Set location), then type a town or ZIP code in Search a city or ZIP and pick it, or select Use my current location. Home and Discover both follow your choice. If Famlo knows your state, the card links to that state's pages, for example Homeschooling in Florida, Funding and ESAs in Florida and School records in Florida.

Once you add a child, Home shows the full page described below. Anything you own from an organization's shop still appears in the meantime.

Getting started

New accounts see a Getting started checklist with a progress bar and "N of 5 done". Each step ticks itself off when you do it:

  1. Create your account (already done).
  2. Add your first child.
  3. Health & safety for organizers: allergies, pickup people and an emergency contact.
  4. Start the school record: log this week in one grid; classes you book fill in on their own.
  5. Find a first activity: done after your first booking.

The checklist disappears when every step is done. Hide removes it sooner, and it can't be brought back. For a walk-through of your first days, see Getting started as a new family.

Needs you

Needs you lists things waiting on you, and a few you're waiting on. It shows up to three cards at a time, with a count next to the heading and "And N more things after these" when there are more. Each card is marked To do (your move) or Waiting (someone else's). When there's nothing, it says Nothing needs you right now.

While the Getting started checklist is showing, its health step covers the emergency contact and photo questions, so those two cards wait until it's done or hidden. The letter-of-intent card stops once you mark the letter sent, and comes back a year later.

For more, see Paying with Step Up or an ESA, the Letter of Intent Generator and Share your experience.

Coming up and Library & resources

These two cards appear only when you have something to put in them.

  • Coming up lists appointments you've booked with any organization. Each shows the service, the organization, the time and the format. Use Reschedule or Details to open the appointment, and Join Zoom when the organization has given a Zoom link. See Booking a service or appointment.
  • Library & resources lists guides and videos you own from any organization's shop, with Download or Watch. See Buying from a shop, and your downloads.

This week

This week lists your bookings for today and the next seven days, one row per activity, with a name tag for each child going (on a wider screen).

  • If you booked without naming a child, the row shows Who's going? instead. Select it to open the activity.
  • Open calendar opens your full calendar.
  • On a quiet week it says Nothing booked this week, names your next booking if you have one, and offers Find activities.

School year so far

School year so far shows each child's hours for the current school year, labeled like 2026–27.

  • A child with hours shows the total, a bar, and "N h confirmed by groups · N h you logged". Select the row to open that child's school record.
  • A child with no hours yet shows Log this week, which opens the weekly grid for home lessons. Classes you book on Famlo fill the record in on their own.
  • Transcripts, diplomas & student IDs opens your Family page, or your child's record if you have one child.

See Your child's school record and Log home learning with Log a week.

New near you

New near you suggests up to three upcoming activities near you, starting with ones that fit your children's ages. It never suggests something you've already booked.

  • "Fits" and a name, such as "Fits Max", says which child an activity suits.
  • Saved · N appears once you've saved anything, and opens your saved list.
  • Discover opens activity search. If nothing is nearby, Look further afield does the same.

See Finding activities and Saved activities and the waitlist.

You run (for organizers)

If you help run an organization on Famlo, a You run row sits at the top of Home, above your family's cards. Each organization gets a card, the busiest first, showing "N activities today", "Next up" and a date, or "Nothing scheduled", and its website address if it has one.

  • Manage followed by the organization's name (for example Manage Sunnyside Learning Co.) opens the first part of the console you have access to.
  • Edit your website, View your website ↗ and Add a class appear underneath when they apply. View your website shows when the organization has a website. Add a class shows to people who can change the organization's settings (by default, Owners and Co-leaders), and so does Edit your website when the organization has a website.

See Your console and Today.

Troubleshooting

A card I expected isn't there. Coming up, Library & resources and You run only appear when they have something to show. Needs you shows three cards at a time, so check the "more things" line under it.

Only one child's activities are showing. A child's chip is selected. Select Everyone.

New near you shows activities far from me. Home works out roughly where you are from your internet connection. To correct it, open famlo.co/activities and select Change (or Set location) next to the place name, then choose your town. Home follows. While your family has no children added yet, you can also select the town on the Where you are card. The location in your profile doesn't change this. See Finding activities.
