Payments & invoices and your receipts

Payments & invoices is one list of everything you've paid for on Famlo: activities, memberships and scholarship invoices, at every organization. Open any line to see what it covered and to get its receipt. You need to be signed in, and it shows payments made from your own Famlo account.

Open Payments & invoices

On a computer, use either of these:

  • Select your picture at the top right, then Payments & invoices.
  • Select Family at the top of the page. In the left column, under Money, select Payments & invoices.

On a phone, tap Family in the bar at the bottom, then Payments & invoices (1). It's also in your account, under Your family.

The address is famlo.co/family/payments. A number next to the link means you have scholarship invoices waiting on you (see Scholarship invoices below).

Find a payment

The page opens on the most recent year that has payments in it, newest first, grouped by month. Each month's heading shows how many payments it holds and how much went on a card.

  1. Choose what to show with the tabs (1): All, Bookings, Memberships or Scholarship. A tab only appears when you have something of that kind.
  2. If you have payments in more than one year, select a year beside the tabs.
  3. Type in Search by activity, organization or child (2) and press Enter. The search also matches how you paid and the status.
  4. To narrow it further, pick a month in All months (3) or a status in Any status (4). They only offer months and statuses that are in the list.
  5. Select Clear to remove the search and filters. The tab and year stay.

With no search or filters, the foot of the list shows Paid by card in the year, with the total. That total counts only card money that wasn't refunded, booking fees included.

What the columns mean

ColumnWhat it shows
DateWhen it was paid, or when the invoice was issued.
DescriptionThe activity, membership or invoice, with the organization underneath.
ForThe children it was for.
Paid withCard, the organization's own scholarship, or your scholarship program's name.
StatusWhere it stands. See the tables below.
AmountWhat you paid after any promo code, scholarship award or account credit, including the booking fee when there is one. Money refunded to you is taken off. A fully refunded line is crossed out and shows what was charged.

On a phone the table keeps the description, status and amount, and shows the date under the description.

Card amounts on this page include the booking fee, so they match what was charged to your card. Open a payment to see the fee on its own line. For how the booking fee works, see What families pay.

Bookings

A booking is anything you paid for through checkout: an activity, an appointment, a shop purchase or a payment request. A booking for several children is one line.

StatusWhat it means
PaidCharged to your card.
Covered by scholarshipThe organization's own scholarship paid all of it, so nothing went on your card.
Scholarship pendingYour scholarship program is paying, and it hasn't paid yet.
Paid by scholarshipYour scholarship program has paid.
Partly refundedPart of the order was refunded, for example one child's place, or part of the money was sent back on a booking you kept.
RefundedThe whole order was refunded.

If you paid for one order two ways, say one child by card and one with a scholarship program, it shows as two lines, one for each way you paid.

Memberships

Each membership dues charge is its own line, with the period it covers.

StatusWhat it means
PaidThe dues for that period are paid.
DueThe invoice is open and still to be paid.
VoidThe invoice was canceled. Its amount is crossed out.
UncollectibleThe invoice was marked as one that won't be collected.

Scholarship invoices

When a scholarship program such as Step Up or an ESA pays for a booking, Famlo issues an invoice for it. The invoice line stands in for those bookings, so they aren't listed twice. The status tells you whose move it is.

StatusWhat it means
Ready to submitYour turn: send the invoice to your program.
Reserve fundsYour turn: reserve the funds for the organization in your program's portal.
Submitted or Funds reservedYou've marked your step done. Now it's up to the program.
Paid by programThe program has paid the organization.
VoidThe invoice was canceled.

The Scholarship tab shows how many invoices are waiting on you. For the steps, see Paying with Step Up or an ESA.

Open a payment for its receipt

Select any line, and its details open right under it. Select it again to close it. Select the title to open the payment on a page of its own.

For a booking, Order lists each child's place and what it cost (a refunded place is crossed out), any promo code, scholarship award or account credit taken off, and the Booking fee when there is one. For a card payment, the total is Paid by card. If anything came back, Refunded shows how much, and Kept shows what stayed on your card. When a scholarship program paid instead, the total reads Covered by scholarship. Details shows how you paid, the date it was paid, any refund date, and the organization you paid.

Depending on how you paid, a booking also has these buttons:

  • View Stripe receipt opens the card receipt in a new tab.
  • Open scholarship invoice appears instead when a scholarship program is paying.
  • Receipt (PDF) downloads a receipt for a card payment, for your records or a reimbursement request. When an order covers more than one child, there's one for each child, labeled with the child's name, for example "Max's receipt (PDF)".
  • When the organization accepts Step Up but isn't paid through EMA directly, a Copy into EMA panel below the details lists the fields Step Up's reimbursement form asks for, each with a copy button. See Paying with Step Up or an ESA.
  • View activity opens the activity's page.

For a membership invoice, you see the dues, the period and how they were paid. Select Pay now to pay a Due invoice, or View Stripe invoice to see a paid one. Manage membership opens your memberships.

For a scholarship invoice, you see what it covers and the total, when it was issued, when you did your step, and when the program paid. Select Open invoice to see it, or Download PDF to save it.

Every payment's page has its own address, so you can bookmark it and come back to it later. The link only opens when you're signed in to the Famlo account that paid. To give a receipt to someone else, such as a spouse or a scholarship reviewer, download the PDF and send that.

Receipts in your email

When a card payment goes through, the confirmation email has your receipt attached as a PDF, one for each child. This applies to activities, shop purchases, appointments and payment requests. When a scholarship program is paying, the email also has the scholarship invoice attached, with a link to open it.

What isn't listed here

  • Free activities and free RSVPs. Only bookings that cost something appear.
  • A checkout you didn't finish.
  • A booking you canceled before anything was charged.
  • Payments made from another person's Famlo account, even for your children. They appear in that person's Payments & invoices.

Your scholarships card

If an organization has given your family a scholarship from its own funds, a Your scholarships card sits at the top of the page. It shows how much is left, when it expires, and where it went. See Scholarships from an organization.

Your saved cards

Saved cards live in a different place: select your picture, then Account settings, then Payment methods. A card saved there works at every organization on Famlo. To add, change or remove one, see How do I update my payment method?

On an organization's own website

If an organization has its own website, its Parent portal has a Payments & receipts tab. It lists only what you paid that organization, with Year, Status and Paid with filters, and links back here with See payments everywhere on Famlo. See Your Parent portal.

Troubleshooting

I paid, but I don't see the payment. Check the year and the tab first, then select Clear. If you still don't see it, make sure you're signed in to the account you booked with. Free bookings never appear here.

The amount here doesn't match my card statement. The amount includes the booking fee and takes off anything refunded to you. Open the payment to see Paid by card, Refunded and Kept, or select View Stripe receipt for the original charge.

I need a receipt for a reimbursement. Open the booking and select Receipt (PDF), or your child's receipt if there are several. The same PDF is attached to your confirmation email.

I want money back. Refunds are handled from the booking, not from this page. See Cancelling and refunds.
