Organizations with their own website

Some organizations have their own website, on their own web address, where you can see their classes, book and pay. Famlo runs these websites, so you use the same free Famlo account there as on famlo.co. This page explains how to spot one, how signing in works, and what you still do on famlo.co.

How to recognize one

An organization's own website looks like the organization: its name, logo, colors and menu. Look at the very bottom of any page. A website run on Famlo says "Bookings and accounts powered by Famlo. Your Famlo account works at every hub."

The footer of Sunnyside Learning Co.'s website, with its address, phone, menu links and Sign in, and the line Bookings and accounts powered by Famlo. Your Famlo account works at every hub.

Every page also has a Parent portal button at the right of the menu. That is your own area on the website: your children, and your bookings and payments with that organization. See Your Parent portal.

One Famlo account everywhere

You don't create a separate account for each website. The account you use on famlo.co works on every organization website run on Famlo, and on famlo.co itself. If you don't have one yet, you can create it, free, when you first sign in on a website.

What you share across them:

  • Your children. They're the same children everywhere. Adding a child or editing their details on one website changes them on famlo.co and on every other website too.
  • Your bookings and payments. A website shows only what you booked or paid with that organization. famlo.co shows everything, from every organization.

Signing in on an organization's website

  1. On the organization's website, select Parent portal (1), or Sign in if the website shows it.
  2. If you're already signed in to famlo.co in this browser, you come straight back signed in. There's nothing to type.
  3. If you're not, a famlo.co sign-in page opens, showing the organization's name and "Sign in with your Famlo account. Your Famlo account works at every hub." Sign in the way you usually do on famlo.co, for example with a code by email, your password or a passkey.
  4. You go back to the website, to the page you were on or to your Parent portal.

The sign-in page is famlo.co's own, wearing the organization's name and colors, with a ← Back to link to the website if you change your mind.

Pages that need you signed in, such as checkout or a members-only page, take you through the same sign-in first, then on to where you were going.

Each website signs you in on its own

Signing in on one organization's website doesn't sign you in on another. Each website does its own quick sign-in the first time you need it. While you're signed in to famlo.co in that browser, this happens without you typing anything.

Signing out

  • Sign out is at the top right of the Parent portal's Overview. Signing out on an organization's website also signs you out of famlo.co in this browser, then takes you back to the website's home page.
  • Signing out of famlo.co also signs you out of every organization website you signed in to from that browser.

What you still do on famlo.co

The website handles booking, paying, canceling a class before it starts and your children's details. A few things live only on famlo.co, and the website's links take you there:

To do thisGo to famlo.co
Ask for a refund on a class that has startedCalendar, then Request a refund. See Cancelling and refunds.
Remove a child from your familyFamily. See Your family and children.
Print a transcript, hours log or other record documentYour child's school record. See Transcripts, diplomas and other documents.
Change your card, fix a failed dues payment or cancel a membershipAccount settings › Memberships. See Your memberships.
Change your password, notifications or other account settingsAccount settings. See Login and security.
Ask for a service by request (the Request button)The request opens on famlo.co. See Booking a service or appointment.

When a website is "taking a short break"

Sometimes an organization's website is offline for a while. Every public page then shows the organization's name and "This website is taking a short break", with two buttons:

  • See classes on Famlo opens the organization's page on famlo.co, where you can still see its classes and book.
  • Already a member? Sign in still works. Your Parent portal, your children's details, your bookings and payments, and checkout keep working while the rest of the site is paused.

Nothing you booked is affected. Everything is also on famlo.co.

Troubleshooting

I see "That sign-in link has expired". Sign-in links work once, for a minute. This also shows if the sign-in started in a different browser or on another website. Select Sign in and start again. It only takes a second.

I see "Sign-in is paused on this site". The website's address isn't connected to Famlo right now, so signing in there is turned off. Select Sign in at famlo.co. Your account and bookings are all there. The website's public pages keep working.

I'm signed in on famlo.co, but the website shows me signed out. Each website signs you in separately. Select Parent portal and you'll come straight back signed in.

I signed out on the website and now famlo.co has signed me out too. That's expected: signing out on an organization's website signs you out of Famlo in that browser. Sign in again on whichever one you need.

The buttons say "Booking is turned off on the demo". You're on demo.famlo.co, Famlo's made-up example website. Nothing there can be booked. Find a real organization on famlo.co instead.
