Your family profile

Your family profile is where you record who is in your household and the details an organization needs on the day. It is for the parent or guardian who books activities and drops children off. Everything here is entered by you, and you can change or clear any of it at any time.

Open it from the account menu under My family.

The list shows each member with their age, grade level, and relationship. A member who is still missing something an organizer would want carries an amber badge — "2 details missing", for example. Selecting a member opens their own page.

To rename the household itself, select Edit at the top of My family, change Family name, and select Save.

Add a family member

Adding someone asks three questions. The rest is filled in afterwards, on their own page, one section at a time.

  1. On My family, select + Add family member.
  2. Type their whole name in Name. It is a single field, not first and last.
  3. Choose a Relationship — Child, Spouse, or Other.
  4. Set the Birthdate.
  5. Select Add.

A family member does not have to be a child. Spouses and other adults belong here too, and the relationship you choose is what decides which they are.

The six sections on a member's page

A member's page is a list of six rows. Each one expands where it sits, holds its own form, and saves on its own with Save. A row you have not filled in yet offers Add; one that already has something offers Edit.

RowWhat it holds
BasicsName, relationship, birthdate, grade level
AllergiesCommon allergies, plus anything else in your own words
Special needs & accommodationsAccommodations, and notes for organizers
Medications & dietMedications carried or needed, and dietary restrictions
Pickup & photosWho may collect them, and whether photos are okay
Emergency contactOne name, phone, and relationship

Basics

Basics repeats the three questions from the add form and adds one more: Grade level. The choices run Pre-K, Kindergarten, Grade 1 through Grade 12, and Ungraded, with Not specified if you would rather leave it open.

Grade is asked separately from birthdate on purpose. Families accelerate, hold back, and work across levels by subject. Organizers place a child using the answer you give, not one worked out from a birthday.

Allergies

There are three controls in this row, and no others.

  1. No known allergies — a checkbox. Ticking it is a real answer, and it stops the missing-details badge asking again.
  2. The common-allergy chips — select any that apply.
  3. Other allergies — a free-text field for anything the chips do not cover. The hint suggests examples like kiwi, or a specific medication.

:::warning There is no severity setting Famlo has no Mild, Moderate, or Severe picker, and no screen anywhere displays a severity. If severity matters — an EpiPen, an anaphylactic reaction, what to do first — write it into Other allergies in your own words. Detail you do not type is detail nobody at the activity will have. :::

Special needs & accommodations

Select any accommodation chips that apply, then use Notes for organizers for anything the chips do not say. This is the place for a learning accommodation, a physical need, or how a child does best in a new room.

Medications & diet

Medications is for anything they carry or may need during an activity — an inhaler, an EpiPen, a scheduled dose. Dietary restrictions is separate from allergies, and covers vegetarian, halal, or gluten-free by choice.

Pickup & photos

This row answers the two questions a drop-off activity asks.

Who may pick them up is a list of named people rather than a paragraph, so an organizer standing at a door can look someone up rather than read. Each row takes a First name, a Last name, and a Relationship. Select Add another for each additional person, up to ten in total.

A last name is worth adding. It is what lets an organizer check a person against their ID.

Anything else about pickup? is free text underneath, for the conditions a list cannot hold — "call me first if it isn't me".

Photos at activities has three answers, not two:

  • Not answered — the state before you choose. It is not permission.
  • Photos are fine
  • Please don't

Organizations often share photos of an activity afterwards, and this is the answer they check before publishing one.

Emergency contact

One contact, with a Name, a Phone, and a Relationship. There is no primary and secondary, and no second contact to add.

This is who an organizer calls when they cannot reach you on your own number, so name someone other than yourself. A name with no number does not count as filled in.

Who can see what

The people who see this are an organization's owner, co-leaders, and event managers. Other parents in an organization do not.

  • Allergies are shared with the organizers you book with, and generically with other attendees, so an activity can be kept safe without naming anyone.
  • Everything else in these rows carries the same note, in the row itself: visible only to the organizer running an activity they are booked into.

What an organizer actually has in front of them, against a child registered with them, is that child's allergies, special needs, medical notes, emergency contact, authorized pickup list, and photo answer, alongside your own name and number.

Any organization your family holds a membership in, and any organization you register a child with, can see that child's profile. Famlo says so at both points where you enter a child: the add-member form and the checkout screen.

The missing-details prompt

A member's page shows an amber line naming what an organizer does not have yet. It counts three things only: allergies, emergency contact, and pickup & photos. Allergies count as answered once No known allergies is ticked, so a family with nothing to declare is not asked forever.

Remove a family member

  1. Open the member's page.
  2. Select Remove.
  3. Confirm.

Removal takes them off your family list and out of the picker at checkout. It does not cancel anything already booked — the confirmation tells you how many upcoming bookings they hold, and those stay booked. Past attendance records stay intact as well, so a roster from last term still shows who was there.

Using these profiles when you register

At checkout, the "Who's attending?" section lists Whole family and then each member you have added, with their age and any allergy already recorded. Choose one, or leave it on Whole family to book under your own name.

If nobody is listed, you have not added anyone yet. Add family members on that screen takes you straight to the add form.

For more on the checkout screen, see Registering and checking out.

Troubleshooting

I recorded an allergy severity and now I cannot find it. There has never been a severity field, so nothing was saved. Put the detail in Other allergies instead.

My child does not appear at checkout. Check they are on My family. A removed member no longer appears in the picker.

The age shown is wrong. Age is worked out from Birthdate in Basics. Check the year.

The missing-details badge will not clear. It asks for three things: allergies, emergency contact, and pickup & photos. An emergency contact needs both a name and a phone number to count.

A row will not save. Each row saves on its own. Make sure you selected Save inside the row you were editing, not a different one.

What's next

  1. Register and check out — put a member's name on a booking.
  2. Find activities — search by age, date, and distance.
  3. Choose your notifications — decide which updates reach you.
