Your organization profile
Your profile is what families see of your organization on Famlo: your logo, photos, name, description, where you meet and how to reach you. You edit it in School settings › Identity, and you can change your cover photo and pin things straight from your public page.
To make these changes, you need School settings set to Edit settings. Owners and co-leaders have this.
Edit your profile
- In your console, select School settings (1).
- Select Identity (2).
- On the row you want to change, select Edit (or Add if it's empty).
- Make your change, then select Save.
Each row saves on its own, so you can change one thing without touching the others. An amber dot next to Identity means you haven't added a logo or a short link yet.
Under the rows, the Your listing card shows how complete your listing is as a percentage, and suggests the most useful thing to add next.
What each row does
| Row | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Logo | Your mark, shown on your page and next to your name across Famlo. Select Upload (or Change), then crop it to the rounded square. A JPG or PNG up to 10 MB works. Remove takes it off. Without a logo, families see your first initial. |
| Photos | Up to 15 photos for your page. The first one is your cover. See Photos and your cover. |
| Name | Organization name is "what families see everywhere on Famlo — in search, on your page, and on every invoice." Tagline is one line shown under your name in search results. |
| Short link | A short address like famlo.co/@sunnyside that's easier to text or print. See Your short link. |
| Type | What kind of organization you are, such as Co-op or Micro-school. Read Changing your type first. |
| About | Description is the first thing a family reads about you. Meeting since is optional: the year your group started meeting, not the year you joined Famlo. |
| Location | Your address and Time zone. Without a location you can't appear in searches near anywhere. A city is enough: your listing then shows an approximate area rather than a pin. The time zone is the default for activities you schedule; Platform default uses Eastern time. |
| Contact | Contact email, Contact phone and Website, shown on your public page for questions that come before joining. Website is just a link to a site you already have. |
Photos and your cover
Your cover is simply the first of your photos. It's the picture at the top of your page and on your listing everywhere it appears.
- In School settings › Identity, on the Photos row, select Add (or Manage).
- Drag photos onto the page, or click to choose them. You can have up to 15. Photos are resized automatically.
- To make a different photo the cover, select Cover on it, or move it to the front with the arrows.
- To remove a photo, select the × on it (Remove this photo).
- Select Save photos.
To write a caption for each photo, tick Edit photo descriptions. A caption shows under the photo and also describes it for people using screen readers.
You can also change the cover from your public page. On a computer, select Change cover (or Add a cover photo) at the top left of the cover. Choose a photo, then frame it: covers are 2:1 everywhere they show, and look best at 2400 × 1200 or larger. You'll see your page, a card and a link preview before it saves. The new photo becomes the first in your gallery. Reframe this photo changes the framing of the cover you already have.
See your page as a family does
When you open your organization's page on famlo.co while signed in, a bar at the top says This is your page. Families don't see this bar or your editing buttons.
- View as a family (1) shows the page exactly as families see it. Select Back to your view to return.
- Add a cover photo or Change cover (2) opens the cover framer described above.
- Edit page opens School settings.
Your short link
Your short link is famlo.co/@ followed by a name you choose. Anyone who types it, in any mix of capital and small letters, lands on your page.
The rules:
- 3 to 30 characters: lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores.
- It must start and end with a letter or a number.
- No other organization can already have it.
- Some words are reserved and can't be used, such as famlo, admin, support, help, team, staff, official, contact, billing and about.
If you type an @ at the start, it's removed for you.
Changing your type
Your type is part of your page's web address. For example, a co-op's page is at famlo.co/co-op/your-name. When you open the Type row, it shows your page's address today.
Changing your type changes your public web address. Your main page's old address redirects to the new one, so links to it that you've already shared (flyers, texts, other sites) keep working. Links to your other pages at the old address, such as your schedule, staff or photos page, open your main page instead of that page. Change your type only if your current one is wrong, and update any links to those other pages you've shared.
Pin things to the top of your page
You can pin up to 3 things to the top of your famlo.co page, right under your tabs, in a row headed Pinned by your organization's name.
You can pin:
- A class that anyone can already see: published, open to everyone, and still to come. Members-only, unlisted, draft and finished classes can't be pinned.
- A service that's listed on your page.
- An active item from your Store, shown as a resource.
- An organization-wide announcement you sent to Both (members and everyone registered). See Announcements.
To pin something:
- Open your organization's page on famlo.co while signed in.
- In the pinned row, select Pin something. Or, on a class, open its menu (the three dots) and select Pin to top of page.
- In Pin to the top of your page, choose a tab, then the item.
- Select Pin it.
A message confirms it, with Undo if you change your mind. To change the order, drag a pinned card by its handle. To remove one, select Unpin on the card, or Unpin from top of page in the class's menu (the three dots).
When all 3 are used, you'll see "All 3 used. Unpin one first." If a pinned item stops qualifying (a class finishes, or you make it members-only), it drops out of the row and frees its slot. Deleting the item removes its pin.
The Verified badge
Verified organizations show ✓ Verified next to their name on their page, and Verified organizer on their activity pages. It tells families your organization is real and run by who it says it is. It isn't a safety inspection or a background check on staff or volunteers.
There's nothing to apply for. Your organization is Verified once Stripe setup is finished or while a paid Famlo plan is active. The owner gets an email when the badge is added.
To finish Stripe setup, see Getting paid. For plans, see Famlo plans.
Troubleshooting
I don't see Identity in School settings. You need School settings set to Edit settings. Ask an owner of your organization to change what you can do in People › Staff & teachers.
My short link won't save. Check that it's 3 to 30 characters, uses only lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores, and starts and ends with a letter or number. If it's already taken or reserved, try another.
A photo wasn't added. Your organization can have 15 photos. Remove one in Photos, then add the new one.
I don't see Change cover on my phone. The cover button on your public page shows on a computer. On a phone, go to School settings › Identity › Photos and move the photo you want to the front.
I don't see Pin something. Pinning is for people with School settings set to Edit settings, and only on your famlo.co page while you're signed in.
