Watchlist

Your watchlist is a personal collection of events you are interested in. Use it to keep track of upcoming events, monitor capacity, and get notified when spots open up for events that are full.

Accessing Your Watchlist

  1. Log in to your Homeschool Hive account.
  2. Click your profile icon or navigate to the main menu.
  3. Select My Watchlist.

Your watchlist page shows all of the events you have saved, organized into tabs by status.

info

You must be logged in to use the watchlist. If you try to access it without signing in, you will be redirected to the login page.

Adding Events to Your Watchlist

You can add an event to your watchlist from several places:

From an Event Card

  1. Hover over any event card in a listing (on the events page, group page, or dashboard).
  2. Click the heart icon that appears.
  3. The heart fills in red to confirm the event has been saved.

From the Event Detail Page

  1. Open the event you are interested in.
  2. Click the Favorite button (heart icon).
  3. The button changes to show "Favorited" in pink, confirming it has been saved.
tip

Adding an event to your watchlist does not register you for it. To attend, you still need to RSVP or complete checkout separately. See RSVP for Events for details.

Watchlist Tabs

Your watchlist organizes events into four tabs so you can quickly find what matters most:

Upcoming

Events that have not yet taken place. These are listed in chronological order so you can plan ahead and decide which ones to register for.

Near Capacity

Events that are filling up fast. Each event in this tab displays a badge showing the percentage full (for example, "85% Full"). This is your signal to register soon before spots run out.

Full

Events that have reached capacity. These events display a "Waitlist Only" badge. Keep them on your watchlist -- if another family cancels, you will be notified that a spot has opened.

Past

Events that have already occurred. Past events appear slightly faded. They remain on your watchlist for reference but can be removed at any time.

Understanding Status Indicators

IndicatorMeaning
No badgeThe event has plenty of available spots.
% Full badge (yellow)The event is nearing capacity. Register soon.
Waitlist Only badge (red)The event is completely full. You will be notified if a spot opens.
Faded appearanceThe event has already taken place.

Getting Notified When Spots Open

One of the most valuable features of the watchlist is capacity monitoring:

  1. Add a full or nearly-full event to your watchlist.
  2. If someone cancels their registration and a spot opens, Homeschool Hive notifies you.
  3. You can then quickly register before the spot fills again.
tip

For high-demand events, add them to your watchlist as soon as you see them -- even if they are not full yet. That way, you will receive a notification if the event reaches capacity and then a spot opens up later.

Viewing Event Details from Your Watchlist

Each event on your watchlist shows:

  • Event name and date -- so you know when it is happening.
  • Location -- where the event takes place.
  • Date added -- when you saved the event to your watchlist.
  • Ticket type of interest -- if you expressed interest in a specific ticket type, it is displayed here.

Click on any event card to go directly to the full event detail page, where you can register or learn more.

Removing Events from Your Watchlist

To remove an event:

  1. Navigate to your Watchlist page.
  2. Find the event you want to remove.
  3. Click the heart icon on the event card to unfavorite it.

Alternatively, you can remove it from anywhere you see the event:

  1. Hover over the event card or open the event detail page.
  2. Click the filled heart icon to toggle it off.
  3. The event is immediately removed from your watchlist.

Watchlist vs. Location Alerts

These two features serve different purposes:

FeaturePurpose
WatchlistTrack specific events you have already found and want to monitor.
Location AlertsGet notified when brand-new groups or events are created in a specific area.

Use both together for the best experience: location alerts help you discover new opportunities, and the watchlist helps you track the ones you are interested in.
